Romans 6:15-18

Romans 6:15-18 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!   Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?  But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance.  You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Paul again rejects the thought that anyone would sin intentionally because of being under grace.  The Holy Spirit changes the allegiance of sinners by regenerating them and giving them a heart of flesh.  Before they were changed they were slaves to sin and gave in to the desires of sin.  But thanks to the grace of God sinners become Saints and are set free from the power of sin.  They become slaves to righteousness and while sin still occurs in their lives, they are not controlled by its power.  Praise God that the Spirit has replaced sin with Christ on the throne of those who are in Christ Jesus by faith.
