Romans 5:20-21

Romans 5:20-21 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rather than decrease sin, the Law of Moses that was given to Jews at Mt. Sinai actually made sin worse.  Paul also points this out in Romans 7.  However, with the increase in sin, grace increased all the more.  This points to the infinite mercy and grace that is available through faith in Christ.  There is no sinner so defiled by sin that the blood of Jesus Christ will not wash him clean and make him a Saint.

But, does this mean that a Saint can continue full speed ahead in sin and have it covered by God’s grace?  Stay tuned as Paul takes that up next.
